WHAT IS WAX RESIST - Wax resist is a liquid wax emulsion applied to bisqueware before glazing. Its primary purpose is to repel liquid glaze. Wherever you paint the wax, the glaze cannot adhere. During the high temperatures of the kiln firing, the wax simply burns away, leaving the raw clay exposed.
HOW WAX RESIST WORKS - Apply wax resist on the bottoms of pots and jar lids to repel liquid glaze, keeping resting surfaces entirely bare so they never melt and fuse to the kiln shelves. You can also paint with wax to create stunning negative space patterns.
BRUSH-ON WAX - A smooth, fluid wax for brushing broad areas such as feet and lids, or painting designs. On greenware, wax a pattern and sponge around it to carve depth into the surface.
CLEANER BRUSHES, CLEANER FEET - Dip your brush in soapy water or fabric softener before waxing so it washes out easily. Let the wax dry fully, then sponge off any glaze droplets before firing.
ART MATERIAL - Conforms to ASTM D-4236 art materials standard.
